2026 Public Links Championship

Location: Baker National Golf Course

Dates: August 15 & 16, 2026

Entry Fee: $150, limited to first 90 players entered

Registration Opens: March 2, 2026

Registration Closes: August 5, 2026

Format: 36 Hole Stroke Play

The player with the lowest score after 36 holes will be the winner. In the event of a tie for the Championship, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following play.

Note: Both Saturday and Sunday play will begin at 11:30 am off both the 1st and 10th tees.

Eligibility: Entry is open to any amateur golfer:

  1. Who plays out of an MPGA Member Club or approved affiliate, and
  2. Carries a USGA Handicap Index of 6.4 or less at the time of entry

Player Points: Public Links players will be awarded MGA Player Points as per the published MGA Player Point Distribution.

Exemptions: Subsequent year MGA State Amateur and Minnesota State Open tournaments.

Special Awards: The Public Links Champion has his name engraved on and is awarded the MPGA Public Links Championship Trophy which is permanently on display at the Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame.

The Al Clasen Cup is a traveling trophy awarded to the member club with the lowest team score for 36 holes during the State Public Links championship. Team scores are determined by recording, for each member club, the best three scores by its players for 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.

An entry may be rejected at the discretion of the Committee at any time, including after the registration for the competition has closed.
